Books
Fission: A Novel of Atomic Heartbreak (2026)
Leslie's debut novel draws on her parents' stories of Oak Ridge during the Manhattan Project, and on revelations of Soviet spies operating there. Nuclear fission and nuclear families are both at the heart of her writing: fission as a metaphor for heartbreak, and chain reactions sparked by relationships. Expect flashes of dark humour and a spunky heroine who is too perfectionistic for her own good.
