Wendy J. Dunn is an award-winning author, playwright and poet who has been obsessed with Tudor History from childhood. She is drawn to the lives of Tudor women and has given voice to both Anne Boleyn and Katherine of Aragon in her fiction. After completing her MA (Writing) at Swinburne University in 2010, Wendy became a sessional tutor for the same course and was accepted as a PhD candidate, receiving the Swinburne University Postgraduate Research Award. Metropolis Ink published her PhD artefact, The Light in the Labyrinth, a young adult novel, in 2014, the same year she gained her PhD.
In 2016, MadeGlobal published her third Tudor novel, Falling Pomegranate Seeds: The Duty of Daughters. All Manner of Things, her fourth novel, was published in 2021. This novel was later picked up by a Spanish publisher translated into Spanish and published as Mi Hermana, Mi Reina in 2023. They will now be publishing The Duty of Daughters in 2026. Her first full length historical nonfiction work, Henry VIII’s True Daughter: Catherine Carey, a Tudor Life, was published in 2023 by Pen & Sword Books. Shades of Yellow, her fifth novel, was published by Other Terrain Press on September 7th, 2025.
A respected and longtime member of the Tudor writing community and the 2020 and 2024 mentor for the HNSA EJ Corbett Mentorship, she is one of the Founding Editors of Backstory and Other Terrain, two academic writing journals belonging to Swinburne University where she tutors in the Writing Department. Wendy still manages Other Terrain. She also has coordinated the Women Write History event for Eltham Library in Victoria, Australia since 2017.
